Block Yards emerges from a careful reading of the territory and the deep architectural tradition of the United Arab Emirates, where architecture has historically learned to engage with an extreme environment. The project reflects on how to envision the home of the future without renouncing this legacy, reinterpreting ancestral construction solutions through a contemporary lens
Block Yards emerges from a careful reading of the territory and the deep architectural tradition of the United Arab Emirates, where architecture has historically learned to engage with an extreme environment. The proposal aspires to be a discreet, serene, and respectful presence within its context, while asserting its identity through a monolithic architecture of earth-based walls characteristic of the region, defined by the absence of visible glazed openings from the exterior. Interior spaces are conceived as flexible and open environments, where natural light plays a central role, generating intimate and timeless domestic atmospheres
